January Client Event: Intro to Yoga Workshop

Our January 25th Yoga Workshop was the second event in our client appreciation series and was a great success! If you missed it, see below for Virginia’s class schedule around Kelowna.

Virginia Preston’s Intro to Yoga Workshop a Hit

Virginia Preston

We gathered for an engaging and informative health seminar that provided us with an introduction to yoga and meditation.

Our host, Virginia Preston, is an experienced yoga teacher with a wealth of wisdom and information! She runs yoga classes for seniors and practices a gentle style of yoga that is particularly suited to people with chronic pain, arthritis, and mobility issues. We thought she would be a great fit for our clientele, and she was.

Virginia first guided us through a short meditation and discussed the ways it reduces stress and benefits overall health. It is interesting to note that Virginia is a western-trained therapist who has embraced yoga and meditation for its effectiveness in this arena!

We then moved on to seated chair yoga and learned some great movements, particularly valuable to those of us who work in an office and are seated all day! Virginia next took us through some simple yoga poses including standing, seated, and kneeling movements. It was a comfortable atmosphere and everyone in the group was able to complete the movements and benefit from the class. We had participants of all ages and with a variety of conditions including back issues, hip problems, whiplash, and chronic pain.

When we finished it was amazing how relaxed and grounded we felt in comparison to when we first arrived. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event a success.
