Quit Smoking Acupuncture can help you manage withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and irritability in a supportive atmosphere to help you make a smoother, more comfortable transition to becoming smoke free!
|You know that quitting smoking is the best thing you can do to improve your health- and your life. But you also know how hard it is to quit. Maybe you’re worried about gaining weight or about other withdrawal symptoms. Maybe you’ve tried to quit smoking before and failed. Most smokers have. In fact, it takes most people 3 to 4 attempts before they quit smoking for good.
Thankfully, quit smoking acupuncture offers effective support during the transition to becoming smoke-free. One of the effects of acupuncture is to stimulate the body to produce endorphins. When a person quits smoking, the body’s endorphin levels drop, causing withdrawal symptoms. Quit smoking acupuncture helps to reduce the withdrawal symptoms by boosting the endorphin levels back up, while the body adjusts to producing its own normal endorphin levels again.
Quit smoking acupuncture won’t help you to stop thinking about smoking, so quitting with acupuncture still requires a desire to quit and a commitment to changing old habits. But, for someone who has made the decision to quit, it can help make it a smoother process.
It’s never too late to stop smoking!
No matter how long you’ve been a smoker, it’s never too late to reap the benefits of quitting smoking. When you stop smoking, your body immediately begins reversing the negative effects that smoking has had on your body. You’ll start feeling better within the first 24 hours and significantly reduce your risks of heart attack, stroke and other life- threatening conditions, not to mention that you’ll have more energy, breathe easier and improve your appearance.
When you’re ready to quit smoking, we’re ready to help!
At Okanagan Acupuncture Centre, we offer a quit smoking acupuncture package of 5 treatments for $210 plus GST. We recommend that a person schedule those 5 treatments as close together as possible, preferably every day for the first 5 days of quitting. Often these 5 treatments are enough to get one through the initial withdrawal period, but some people do additional treatments if they feel the need. It all depends on your individual situation.
An advance deposit of $50 is required to schedule quit smoking appointments. The deposit will be applied to any appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hour’s notice. The remaining balance of the package is due upon first appointment.
Preparing to quit
We recommend you pick a quit date and schedule your first appointment for that day. Pick a day and a time when you can relax afterwards and you won’t be faced with a lot of stress, this will help you get off to a great start.
On the day of your appointment, try not to smoke at least 2 hours prior to your appointment for best results. It is also helpful to avoid drinking coffee, as it can aggravate cravings. Drink lots of water, dehydration can also cause cravings and water will help your body with the detoxification process.
